Ladies Fun Gala 2014

The spirit of Christmas descended on Rugby Thornfield Indoors as they staged their Christmas Fun Gala raising funds for the ladies section, with festive songs playing then teams hit the green hoping to become the star on top of the christmas tree.

“Three Angels & Bob Humbug” made a perfect start, picking up nine points to hold a point lead over second place “Abbie & the 3 Masons”. “Rail Roaders”, “Speckled Hen” and “Insanity Claus” were joint third on seven points after the first round of games. Heading into the halfway break “Abbie & the 3 Masons” took the lead, two points clear of “Rail Roaders” in second. “Three Angels & Bob Humbug” (third), “The Fun Team” (fourth) and “Insanity Claus”, “Odd Fellows” & “Speckled Hen” (joint fifth) completed the top five.

The lead again changed hands as “Rail Roaders” led the way after three games played. “Abbie & the 3 Masons” held second spot, “Three Angels & Bob Humbug” third, “The Shorties” fourth and “Insanity Claus” were fifth. With all games completed “Abbie & the 3 Masons” were top of the tree with 25 points. In second place on 23 points were “Rail Roaders”, “The Shorties” were third a point behind and “Insanity Claus” a further point back in fourth. The top five was completed with “Three Angels & Bob Humbug” on 19 points.
