The opening gala of the season was combined with a “bowl for free” session to encourage people to give bowls a try. There were also several fun mini games to try as well as a cake stall, model rail display, tombola, raffle and auction of soft drinks kindly donated by Britvic. In total there was just short of £1000 raised for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Charity.
