Air Ambulance Gala 2016

The final charity gala of the winter season saw 16 teams raising funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

One round in and there was a six way tie for top spot, “Yellow Copter”, “Mellow Yellows”, “Ancient & Modern”, “Yellow Rose of Texas”, “Fly By Night” and “The Snowballs” all had seven points. Heading into the half-time break “Mellow Yellows” had taken a one point lead over “Cobblers”, “Yellow Rose of Texas” and “Ancient & Modern” in joint second, “Fanny's Fantom Flan Flingers” completed the top five.

​With the final set of games to play “Cobblers” had joined “Mellow Yellows” in first place, three points clear of “Yellow Rose of Texas” and “Ancient & Modern” in joint third. In joint fifth were “Fanny's Fantom Flan Flingers”, “Misfits” and “Break Free”. A thrilling final round saw just two points separating the top three, it was “Mellow Yellows” (Mandy Dahlgren, Sue Henderson, Pat Dahlgren and Bob Henderson) who took the title with 25 points, 24 points secured “Cobblers” second while “Ancient & Modern” had to settle for third with 23 points. Fourth place went to “Fly By Night” with 19 points, one point ahead of “Nonames” and “Break Free” in joint fifth.
