NET Patients Gala 2018

The penultimate charity gala of Rugby Thornfield Indoors Bowls Clubs season was in aid of the NET Patient Foundation, which supports people who have neuroendocrine cancer. Twelve teams took to the green carpet with music playing over the club speaker system to battle it out in four games of five ends.

With round one complete “Fab Four” and “Not So Hot Shots” led the way with seven points, “Dolly Mixtures”, “Oddments” and “Fannys Fantom Flan Flingers” a point behind while “Team Six” complete the list of teams to win their opening game. Heading into the midway break “Dolly Mixtures” and “Fab Four” shared top spot, two clear of third place “Team Six” who in turn were two points clear of “#HASHTAG” and “Not So Hot Shots” in joint fourth.

​“Fab Four” took sole control of the table after three games, both “Team Six” and “Dolly Mixtures” were two points behind in joint second. In fourth spot was “Oddments” with “Not So Hot Shots” completing the top five. With all games complete it was as you were for the leading three teams, all gaining six points in their last games, which meant “Fab Four” aka I Amos, S Blackshaw, S Butterworth and B Weston finished first. Joint second went to “Dolly Mixtures” and “Team Six”, two points behind first place and five points clear of “Mothers Day Miracle” in fourth. “#HASHTAG” and “Not So Hot Shots” shared fifth spot.
