Halloween Gala in aid of Parkinsons

There was spooky goings on at Thornfield Indoors as beings shuffled onto the green to raise money to help in the battle against Parkinsons. It was good to see a selection of players from the local support group of Parkinsons taking part.

With the first round of games complete “Beyond our Ken” had a one point lead over the six teams in joint second, “The Mish Mashers”, “Coffin Dodgers”, “Parkies 2”, “Fanny’s Fantom Flan Flingers”, “Team Bax” and “Daventry Dimwits”. Heading into the midway break “Beyond our Ken” still led the way, one point clear of “The Mish Mashers”, “Parkies 2” and “Team Bax” in joint second. Fifth place, a point back, were “Fanny’s Fantom Flan Flingers”.

​After the penultimate set of games “The Mish Mashers” had joined “Beyond our Ken” in first place, “Parkies 2” were third a point behind, fourth place was held by “Team Bax” with “Only Ghosting” in fifth place. With all four rounds over and the spirits getting ready to lay to rest for another year the gala winners were “The Mish Mashers” aka Mandy Dahlgren, Pat Dahlgren and Colin Knapp with 28 points. “Team Bax” were second on 27 points, 26 points secured third spot for “Parkies 2”. “Only Ghosting” were fourth with 24 points, one ahead of “Beyond our Ken” in fifth.
