Pancreatic Cancer Gala - 23rd November 2025

Thornfield hosted a gala to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer. A full set of sixteen teams played four games of four ends to see who would be crowned winners.
Only one team, ‘The Wrong Bias Crew’, achieved a clean sweep of 7 points in the first round, one point clear of ‘The JOMOs’, ‘Late Arrivals’, ‘Two Plus Two’ and ‘Three Ladies and a Tramp’. A further point back were ‘Archies Crew’ and ‘The Renigrads’, ‘Misfits’ complete the list of teams to win their opening game with 4 points. Heading into the half-time break ‘The Wrong Bias Crew’ and ‘The JOMOs’ were joint top on 13 points. In joint third with 11 points were ‘Archies Crew’ and ‘Two Plus Two’ with ‘The Renigrads’ in fifth on 10 points.
​With three games played ‘The JOMOs’ held a one point lead over ‘Archies Crew’, three points behind second place were ‘The Renigrads’, who in turn were a point head of ‘The Wrong Bias Crew’. In joint fifth were ‘Motley Crew’ and ‘Two Plus Two’. After the last round of games had concluded a clean sweep ensured ‘The JOMOs’ (Brian Lever, Paul Lever, Steve Hatfield and Becky Lever) the crown with 26 points, second place with 23 points were ‘Archies Crew’. Joint third on 20 points were ‘The Wrong Bias Crew’ and ‘The Renigrads’, finishing the top five were ‘Motley Crew’ with 12 points.
